10 mm Jumbo LEDs
Larger lenses make panel indicators easy to see.

About 10 mm jumbo LEDs
Jumbo LEDs have a 10 mm body and are used where an indicator must be seen from far away, such as signs and large panels.
Details
- Some contain several small chips, so forward voltage and current ratings differ from small LEDs.
- Brightness comes from a larger lens and often a wider beam, not necessarily more power.
- Check the datasheet, since a few models are rated for 30 mA or more.
Practical
They need a larger panel hole and are usually mounted with a holder. Use a resistor sized to the stated current and voltage.
REMEMBER
Colour is set by the semiconductor material, not by the plastic lens.Try it yourself
Sketch the circuit on paper first, calculate the values, then build it on a solderless breadboard using a low-voltage supply. Measure with a multimeter before you make anything permanent.
