Constant-Current LED Driver Modules
Dedicated modules keep current steady.
LED SYMBOLTriangle points from anode to cathode; the arrows show light leaving the part.
Choose by
- Output current, such as 350, 700 or 1050 mA, matched to the LED.
- Input voltage range of the module.
- Output voltage window, which must cover the LED string's total forward voltage.
- Dimming input, either PWM or analogue.
- Isolation and safety rating if powered from mains.
Cautions
Connect the LEDs before applying power. Plugging an LED into a running constant current driver can produce a damaging voltage spike. Do not run the driver with no load unless it is designed for it.
REMEMBER
Match the driver current to the LED rating.Try it yourself
Sketch the circuit on paper first, calculate the values, then build it on a solderless breadboard using a low-voltage supply. Measure with a multimeter before you make anything permanent.
